Ο Δήμος Ηρακλείου εκπροσωπεί τη χώρας μας στην 4η Ευρωπαϊκή Συνάντηση Οργανισμών που εφαρμόζουν το Κοινό Πλαίσιο Αξιολόγησης (Κ.Π.Α.) σε ειδική διημερίδα που θα διεξαχθεί στις 23 και 24 Σεπτεμβρίου 2010 στο Βουκουρέστι της Ρουμανίας.
Ο Δήμος Ηρακλείου καταβάλει συνεχή προσπάθεια στην κατεύθυνση της βελτίωσης και αναβάθμισης των παρεχόμενων υπηρεσιών προς τον πολίτη, που είχε ως αποτέλεσμα τη βράβευση του με το Εθνικό Βραβείο Ποιότητας των Δημοσίων Υπηρεσιών, τον Απρίλιο του 2009. Η πολιτική ποιότητας αποτελεί μία από τις πρώτες προτεραιότητες της Δημοτικής Αρχής.
Ο Δήμος Ηρακλείου διασφαλίζει τη χρηστή διαχείριση και τη διαφάνεια, ενώ παράλληλα προωθεί τη διοίκηση μέσω στόχων με μέτρηση της αποδοτικότητας και της αποτελεσματικότητας.
Η αντιπροσωπεία του Δήμου Ηρακλείου, με επικεφαλής τον αρμόδιο για θέματα ποιότητας, αντιδήμαρχο Μανόλη Αλεξάκη, θα έχει τη δυνατότητα να παρουσιάσει την εφαρμογή του Κοινού Πλαισίου Αξιολόγησης και εν γένει την πολιτική Ολικής Ποιότητας που εφαρμόζει στο σύνολο των υπηρεσιών του και να ανταλλάξει την εμπειρία και τη γνώση του με τους άλλους ευρωπαϊκούς δημόσιους Οργανισμούς.
Να σημειωθεί ότι ο Δήμος Ηρακλείου, ο μοναδικός φορέας από την Ελλάδα, επελέγη για το σκοπό αυτό, μετά από αξιολόγηση από την Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή Διοργάνωσης του Συνεδρίου.
Στην εκδήλωση θα παρουσιαστεί η συνεχής βελτίωση που έχει επιτευχθεί τα τελευταία χρόνια σε όλες τις εκφάνσεις της διοίκησης του Δήμου που επικεντρώνεται:
α) στη Στρατηγική και τον Προγραμματισμό,
β)στην αποτελεσματική διαχείριση πόρων (ανθρώπινο δυναμικό και υποδομές) και τις εποικοδομητικές συνεργασίες,
γ)στην προσπάθεια μέτρησης της αποδοτικότητας και αποτελεσματικότητας των υπηρεσιών προς όφελος του πολίτη και
δ) στην αναβάθμιση και τον εκσυγχρονισμό των διαδικασιών με εργαλείο την αξιοποίηση των νέων τεχνολογιών και την επέκταση των υποδομών για την πλήρη εφαρμογή διαδικασιών ηλεκτρονικής διακυβέρνησης.
